The Plan Sponsor University (TPSU) has announced the launch of TPSU for Health Plan Fiduciaries, a new educational initiative focused on the growing financial, regulatory, and fiduciary complexities surrounding employer-sponsored health plans.
The program expands TPSU’s long-standing fiduciary education model—historically centered on retirement plans—into the healthcare and benefits space, where employers continue facing rising costs, evolving compliance obligations, and increased scrutiny surrounding plan governance and fiduciary oversight.
Led by Jamie Greenleaf, C(k)P, AIF®, CBFA, Principal of Greenleaf Advisors and Co-Founder of Fiduciary In A Box, the half-day, in-person program is designed for plan sponsors, HR leaders, fiduciary committee members, and legal counsel.
The curriculum will focus on three primary areas:
- Healthcare cost management
- ERISA fiduciary oversight and governance
- Improving overall plan outcomes for employers and participants
Topics will include healthcare plan cost transparency, vendor compensation, fiduciary governance processes, federal reporting requirements, and evaluating plan performance and outcomes.
“Many employers have established formal governance processes for their retirement plans, but healthcare plans have not always been subject to the same level of oversight,” said Greenleaf. “This program is intended to provide a framework for applying fiduciary best practices to health plans.”

The initial 2026 rollout schedule includes programs at:
- July 8 — Rice University | Houston, TX
- July 16 — University of Maryland | College Park, MD
- July 16 — University of Maryland | College Park, MD
- August 19 — Rutgers University | New Brunswick, NJ
Since 2013, TPSU has conducted nearly 700 fiduciary education programs nationwide focused on retirement plan governance, fiduciary oversight, and participant outcomes.
