Adult Learning is Changing, and TRAU & TPSU are Ready
Adult learning is changing as the result of the Covad-19 crisis. TPSU and TRAU has built a strong Adult Learning reputation around classroom experiences with peer-to-peer engagement, because that’s how adults learn – interactively. The Covad-19 crisis has resulted in our relying more on the distance learning model since we are postponing most of our scheduled TPSU and TRAU programs for at least the next eight weeks. On the other hand, demand for remote or distance learning has increased. Here’s how TRAU and TPSU have responded to your needs.
TPSU and TRAU are delivering complimentary live Virtual Town Hall Meetings every Friday at 1:00 PM EST. Our first Town Hall on March 13 included a panel of TPSU Adjunct Lecturers who discussed what and how they are communicating to clients and what options participants have if they need to tap into their 401k or 403b plan. (That replay is available here)
Our upcoming adult learning Town Hall webcast (link here) will review financial relief that struggling companies can obtain from the government as well as pending legislation about their defined contribution plans.
These Town Halls are interactive and provided at no cost to the TPSU, TRAU and 401kTV community.
Live classes delivered through Coursera and edX used by many universities are in higher demand. Fortunately, we have developed an extensive library of 54 courses for 401k and 403b professionals – plan sponsors, advisors and industry professionals. All courses are housed on a state-of-the-art LMS (Learning Management System) which include videos, knowledge checks and tracking. We are opening up many of these courses during the crisis at no cost for selected clients as people look for productive activities while working remotely.
We are also conducting live classes every Thursday at 1:00 ET starting April 2nd led by TPSU’s Executive Director Steff Chalk on how to create, run and best leverage a retirement committee. Plan sponsors who attend the virtual class will get immediate access to the three online courses which is part of TRCE (TPSU Retirement Committee Education) and, if plan sponsor fiduciaries register and attend a TPSU session in 2020, we will waive the $395 cost. If plan sponsors cannot attend a TPSU session but do not have the means to pay the fee after the crisis subsides, TPSU will waive the fee.
TPSU, TRAU and 401kTV are here for you during the crisis and we will continue to look forward by focusing on our virtual adult learning assets and capabilities until we can meet again – which hopefully is very soon. Please stay safe and healthy – our thoughts are with you.
