401k Plan Participants: Annual Refresh Help All at Retirement

401k Plan Participants: Annual Refresh Helps All at Retirement. The Plan Sponsor University (TPSU) held a Fiduciary Education Program in Glendale, Arizona at Thunderbird School of Global Management.  One of the topics discussed during the half-day TPSU Program was the impact of annually re-enrolling each eligible employee into the 401k plan. This is a multi-faceted strategy used by employers wanting to stress to all employees the importance of saving for retirement.  The practice treats every eligible employee the same and it normally stimulates conversation and action around the retirement plan every year.

During the TPSU Program Adjunct Lecturer, Jim Pupillo discussed the benefits of annual re-enrollment and the positive outcomes associated with doing so.

At the conclusion of the TPSU Program, TPSU Founder and CEO, Executive Director, Fred Barstein interviewed Lisa Grant, Human Resources Professional at a local healthcare organization with approximately 500 employees.  Ms. Grant indicated the results that her organization has experienced through the use of the auto re-enrollment feature.  Their organization strongly believes in re-enrollment.
