In 401k Plans, Customized and Targeted Education Make a Difference. Tim Rice, TPSU Adjunct Lecturer is a strong proponent of personalized Employee Education for participants in 401k Plans. He feels that there is great value in starting with a pool of eligible employees, then converting a group presentation topic into a collection of smaller, targeted individual presentations. Customizing presentations build stronger engagement with employees in specific areas – whether they be by Age, Compensation, Years to Retirement or Tax Brackets.
Mr. Rice uses the example of the Roth 401k as an area where he has observed utilization rates much greater than the industry utilization rates. He attributes this favorable outcome to customized education for plan participants.
