Chris Hacker, from Titan Retirement Advisors and an Adjunct Lecturer for TPSU speaks about employee/participant education.
Chris explains how Titan has forged one-on-one relationships with participants and HR professionals at Plan Sponsors to educate the employees on retirement goals, objectives and options. Hacker says that plan success is only as good as the success of the individuals.
One of the most revealing dynamics of the Titan approach is the idea that participants are willing to discuss matters and ask questions that they would not normally ask in a group setting. Hacker says that this provides his company (and the sponsor) with greater insight into the needs and goals of the employees. In addition he feels that most participants would never have the opportunity to gain knowledge about their own retirement outside the workplace.
Similarly, Hacker says that plan sponsors exhibit a strong sense of community during the TPSU event, and are eager to interact with their counterparts at other companies. Chris notes how he learned from interacting with groups of plan sponsors and noted how issues facing sponsors were similar along lines of plan size.
