Over the last two weeks we have been feverishly working away at improving the 401kTV Daily. Almost 35,000 and growing defined contribution (DC) plan sponsors and industry professionals have come to rely on 401kTV since inception on November 2015. The newly minted 401kTV will be even better.
Originally created to support TPSU (The Plan Sponsor University) programs, 401kTV has become the leading news and educational website for DC plan sponsors with 50-2,500 employees. TPSU has trained over 4,000 plan sponsor professionals attending 225 programs since May 2013 covering almost 10 million participants. 401kTV has brought video interviews from many of those programs continuing the important learning started at TPSU.
We noticed that advisors have become 401kTV’s audience so we intend to focus more on what plan sponsors need and want from their advisors while bringing examples of best practices along with ways for plan sponsors to find experienced and relevant advisors for their company and employees. We welcome success stories and challenges from readers – just send a brief note to [email protected] and let us know if you want to remain anonymous.
To that end, we intend to make 401kTV more engaging and interactive. We have retained an experienced industry journalist starting June 1 and will be including more articles from trusted and leading industry experts.
We’re also in the process of creating an online and telephone hotline for plan sponsors answering technical questions as well as helping them to benchmark their current advisor and find a new one if needed. In addition, we’re working with a leading industry research organization to bring ratings of record keepers, investment managers and broker dealers to the plan sponsor community as evaluation of providers becomes more important.
Finally, we took advantage of our hiatus to significantly upgrade technology and our vendors as we transition 401kTV from a support role for TPSU to creating its own personality helping plan sponsors improve compliance and outcomes by engaging in best practices while working with the right advisors and providers.
Thanks for your support and patience. Welcome back.
